KIM today launched a brand new television series. 'Mill-Grilja' will be broadcast on TVM every Saturday at 18:45 with a repetition on Sunday at 09:45.
The Maltese people have a love affair with barbequing and simple, satisfying food prepared and served ‘Al fresco’.
Mill-Grilja is a 13 episode programme that explores the many facets of outdoor cooking using only local produce.
Each week, the resident chef will prepare different recipes using only Maltese pork. These recipes will be available on this website. Viewers will also be given tips to maximise on the culinary and health benefits of Maltese pork.
The programme will also feature different interviews with various experts explaining the benfits of using local produce. This will include herdsmen, a veterinarian, experts from Health Promotion, experts in the environmental field, etc.
The aims of the programme are:
To increase awareness of the benefits of local produce;
To educate in the distinction between local and foreign pork products;
To educate people in choosing the right pork products;
To raise awareness about the high quality standards adopted by Maltese farmers.
