The first Maltese Pork Festival took place in Zebbug on the 15th November of 2009, organized jointly by the MRRA and KIM. Attractions included live performances by local artists and informational displays on locally produced food specialties as well as pork. Local pork was sold on site, both fresh and cooked in a variety of ways. Both attendance and sales were exceptional. Due to this overwhelmingly positive response from the public, KIM intends to organize similar events in future.
